Children from Widcombe School arrive for a
poetry session with author Mike Ratnett

With music and pig!
All welcome

(3.00 pm Children leave exhibition to return to school)
The exhibition will then be open to the public
until the library closes at 5.00pm


Saturday 'Drop in and draw' FREE family events

Saturday 20th September

10.30 am - 1.00 pm
John and Bridget Sibbick
'Big Drawers' Big Draw
John Sibbick, world famous, fabulous dinosaur and fantasy artist, will be helping young artists to draw a selection of amazing bones , stones and other natural wonders. John even has a dinosaur named after him !!
All ages are welcome to join in.

2.00 - 3.30 pm
Jan Nesbit and Penny Ives
' Look in the Mirror'
Penny and Jan invite visitors to help create a portrait gallery .....look in the mirror and draw yourself into a great exhibition diary.
All ages are welcome to join in.


Children from local schools will be attending our weekday events, but members of the public are welcome to join in.


Monday 22nd September

Babette Cole
`Fact to Fantasy' (All ages)
Babette will be talking about her life and work.

1.30 - 2.30 pm
Michelle Cartlidge
`The Cornish Cats who went to Sea' (Age 4 - 8)

Michelle will be talking about her book set in Cornwall, where she lives.

Tuesday 23rd September
10.00 - 11.00 am
Alan Snow
`Bring Pencils!' (Age 6 - 8)
Alan will be talking about his work, drawing and encouraging everyone else to draw too.

1.00 - 2.30 pm
Richard Deverell
I Can Make Pop-Ups! (Age 9 - 10)
Workshop. Richard will show everyone how to make their own pop-up.

Wednesday 24th September
11.00 - 12.00 am
Sarah Warburton
`Drawing Rumblewick' (Age 7 - 9)

Sarah will talk about her work illustrating the popular ‘Rumblewick’ series, written by Hiawyn Oram

1.30 - 2.30 pm
Chris Fisher
`The Draglins' (Age 5/6 upwards)

Chris will talk about his work illustrating the popular ‘Draglins’ series, written by Vivian French.

Friday 26th September
10.30 - 11.30 am
Jan Nesbitt
'Poems, Pictures, and Pig-tails' (Age 7-10)
Jan will read poems and show a selection of her illustrations and books. The pig tails are silly stories of her own about living in wild Wales . Further pig connection to be revealed at the time.

Please Note: On Sunday 21st, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th, the exhibition will be closed to the public during Festival events.
However, there will be a display of prints viewable in the meeting room.

Throughout the exhibition, there will be at least two illustrators available to talk about their work and to aspiring artist or interested parties.
