Tales from the Sketchbook - Sarah Warburton

The Theatre Royal Winchester asked me to produce the artwork for their Christmas 2010 production of Peter Pan. This is the 3rd year I have worked with them. They are a pleasure to work with as they are committed to using traditional illustration in their publicity and marketing.
The brief was to produce the various characters from Peter Pan and produce a poster which described the production as Peter Pan but as a fun - filled family pantomime. Here are sketches, artwork, the final poster plus unused ideas.

Exhibition: Telling Tales

Saturday 24th July 2010 – Monday 13th September 2010

This exhibition will showcase South West artists who work with illustration, or tell stories through their art.
Currently, confirmed exhibitors include the award-winning writer/illustrator of children's books Babette Cole.  Known for her quirky, zany, sometimes anarchic style, Babette has published over 70 books, including the best-selling Princess Smartypants and Mummy Laid an Egg.
She is joined by another children's book illustrator Sarah Warburton, who illustrates Hiawyn Oram's books about witch Rumblewick.
Other exhibitors will be announced later in the year.
 

Surface Patterns at Centrespace

This exhibition reveals how individual styles can use commercial or craft based approaches to produce pattern as fine art.  SWILL member Ivana Svabic Cannon has work in this show.
